idigAka - Mukhari

In this keertana, Annamaiah praises the greatness of Adi Lakshmi who did penance and secured the most coveted place in her Lord's heart. He adds that her joy was transformed to spiritual state after she surrendered to her compassionate Lord.

P idi gAka soubhAgya midi gAka tapamu mari
idigAka vaibhavambika nokaTi kaladA ||
Is anything more prosperous? Is there any other penance greater? Is there any other splendor greater?
C1 ativa janmamu saphala mai parama yOgi vale
itara mOhApEksha lanniyunu viDiche
sati kOrikalu mahA Santamai ide chooDa
satata vijnAna vAsana vOle nunDe ||
Lakshmi performed penance like a supreme yogi, rejecting all illusive desires and obtained the supreme fruit of her life. Her great equanimity itself radiates wisdom.

paravaSa manda sampadaku niravAya
sarasijAnana manO jaya mandi intalO
sari lEka manasu niSchala bhAva mAya ||
That lady's desire was fulfilled and she became the wealth of his heart. Lakshmi, the lotus born, won her heart's desire and became serene.

bhAvambu nijamugA baTTe cheli Atma
dEvOttamuni krupAdheenu rAlai ipuDu
lAvaNya vatiki nullambu diramAya||
She meditated upon the spiritual nature of Sri Venkatesa. She surrendered herself to the grace of the great lord. That gentle lady's mind remained unwavering.

indariki - varALi

In this song, Annamaiah praises the benevolent hand of Sri Venkatesa that performed great deeds in various incarnations as Matsya, Varaha, Narasimha, Vaamana, Rama, etc. audio

This is the hand that protects from all fears. This is the unblemished golden hand.

This is the hand that recovered precious Vedas (Matsya). This is the hand that lifted Mandara mountain in the rain (Koorma). This is the hand that rescued the goddess earth (Varaha). This hand has smartly destroyed Hiranyakasipu with its sharp nails (Narasimha).

monasi jala nidhi yammu monaku dechchina chEyi
yanaya nAgElu dhariyinchu chEyi ||
This is the hand that sought charity from the king Bali (Vamana). This is the hand of Parasurama that defeated the arrogant Kshetriyas and bestowed those Kingdoms to the kings that stood for Dharma. This is the hand that threatened the ocean with the tip of his arrow (Rama). This is the hand that held the plough (Balarama). ||

turagambu bara peDi doDDa chEyi
tiru vEnkatAchalAdheeSuDai mOkshambu
teruvu prANula kella delipeDi chEyi ||
This is the hand that protected the dignity of pious women from the hands of demon Narakasura. This is the hand that reins the horse (Kalki). This is the hand of Sri Venkatachalapati that shows the way to attain salvation.

innirAsula

In this song, Annamaiah describes the beauty of Alamelu Manga, comparing various aspects of her grace to different names of rasis (constellations).

P inni rASula yuniki inti cheluvapu rAsi
kanne nee raSi kooTami kaligina rASi ||
All rasis (constellations) can be attributes to Alamelu Manga's grace. She is indeed the combination of all rasis.

kuluku kucha kumbhamula komma kunu kumbha rASi
chelagu hari madhya kunu simha rASi ||
Dhanu rasi (Saggitarius) is for the bow-like eye-browed lady. Meena rasi (Pisces) for Meenakshi with twinkling and fish shaped eyes. Kumbha rasi (Aquarius) is for the lady with attractive breasts. simha rasi (Leo) is for the lady with slim waist.

kanne prAyapu satiki kanne rASi
vanne mai paiDi tula toogu vanitaku tula rASi
tinnani vADi gOlla sati ki vruschika rASi ||
Makara rasi (Cancer) is for her cupid's heart. Kanne rasi (Virgo) is for the beauty of her youth. Tula rasi (Libra) is for the lady equal to gold. Vruschika rasi (Scorpio) is for the lady with sharp nails.

gAmiDi guTTu mooTala sati karkATaka rASi
komalapu chEguru mOvi kOmaliki mEsha rASi
prEma vEnkaTa pati kalase priya midhuna rASi ||
Vrushabha rasi (Taurus) is for the lady with the beautiful body. Karkataka rasi (Capricorn) is for the lady with innate beauty. Mesha rasi (Aries) is for the damsel with delicate lips. Midhuna rasi (Gemini) is for the loving couple Alamelu Manga and Venkatapati.

ippDiTu - bowli

In this song, Annamaiah describes his beautiful dream in which he saw Lord Venkatesa in all His splendor.

Just now, I saw the father of all lokas (universe), Tiru Venkatadheesu in my dream.

kanakAmbaramu ganTi grakkuna mElu konTi ||
I saw the heavenly doors of gold and diamonds, the grand cluster of temple lamps, his unparalleled diamond studded crown, his golden attire and I got up at once.
C3 arudaina Sankha chakrAdu liru gaDa ganTi
sari lEni abhaya hastamu kanTi
tiru vEnkaTachalA vibhuni chooDaga ganTi
hari ganTi guru ganTi nantaTa mElu konTi ||
I saw his unique Sankha (conch), Chakra (discus), his unique protecting hand, Hari the lord of Venkatachala, and I got up at once.

Rama is born on this earth and married Sita the daughter of earth. He assured protection to all in the forest. He chopped off the ear and nose of evil Soorpanakha and destroyed Khara and Dooshana.

vanadhi bandhinchi dATe vAnarula tO
kanali rAvaNa kumbha karNAdulanu jampi
vanita jEkoni maLLi vachche nayOdhyakunu ||
He killed Vali and restored kingdom to Sugreeva. He built bridge with monkeys and crossed the sea. He killed Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and his clan and brought back Sita to Ayodhya.
C4 soumitriyu bharatuDu SatrughnuDu koluva
bhoomi yEle kuSa lava putrula gAnche
Sree mantuDai niliche Sree vEnkaTAdri meeda
kaminchi vibheeshaNu lankaku paTTamu gaTTe||
Bharata, Lakshmana, and Satrughna worshipped him. He found Kusha and Lava. He appeared on Venkatadri as the lord of Lakshmi. He crowned Vibheeshana as the king of Lanka.

ita DokaDe sarvESwaruDu - yamunA kalyANi

In this song, Annamaiah states that Sri Venkatesa is the Supreme Lord giving various instances wherein His devotees like Gajendra, Draupadi, and many sages were rescued.

He is Yashoda's precious gem. He is the rescuer of Gajendra in danger and the protector of Draupadi in distress. Sri Venkatesa is all- pervading.

jigiminchina ee Sree vEnkaTESuDu ||
The penance of sages yielded auspicious results. He is the primordial of the trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara). Sri Venkatesa shines brilliantly with his consort Alamelumanga.

iTTi muddu lADi - Ananda bhairavi

Annamayya, in this beautiful song, describes the pranks of little Krishna and how Yashoda desperately ties him with a chain and how he teases her, stealing butter etc

Where is this pretty boy? Catch him and feed him with milk well.
