sarvOpAyamula jagati - KaLyANi - Adi -

In this soul stirring song Annamacharya outpours his feeling that surrendering to Sri Venkatesa excels all the benifits derived from piligrimages, from studying vedas and even from performing austerities.

The sacred water of Pushkarini tank near the temple confers on me the reward of bathing in all sacred rivers. A visit to Venkatachalam itself is holier for me than visiting all the other holy places. Singing the praise of SriHari is itself the study of the Vedas and other sacred books. My dedicated service to Him is itself the performance of all rituals.

Taking His prasadam is itself performing many austerities and fasting. Surrendering to his lotus feet is itself equal to daily incantations and preachings of Gurus. For me, seeing varous trees on the Tirumala Hills is like visiting the holy sages. The twittering noise of the birds on the hill is like listening to the holy epics for me.

The best yoga that can be thought of is the association with devotees of Vishnu. The great festivals at Tirumala bestow me all splendour. Surrendering to Sri Venkateswara is itself worshipping of all Gods. Sri Venkateswara's queen Alamelumanga's compassionate glances are my greatest wealth.
