P dEhi nityuDu dEhamulu anityAlu
eevala nAmanasA idi maravakumee ||
The soul is eternal and the body is temporal. Oh my fickle mind, never forget it.
C 1 gudi pAta cheera mAni kottacheera kaTTinaTTu
mudi mEnu mAni dEhi mogi kottamEni mOchu
adana champaga lEvu Ayudhammu leetani
kadisi agniyu neeru gAliyu champaga lEvu ||
It is like discarding an old saree and wearing a new saree. It is like leaving old body and assuming a new body. No weapon can kill the soul. Neither fire, water nor wind can destroy the soul.
C 2 eetaDu naraku vaDaDu eetaDagni kAlaDu
eetaDu neeTa munagaDu eetaDu gAli bODu
chEtanuDai sarvagatuDou cheliyinchaDEmiTanu
eetala nanAdi eetaDiruvu gadalaDu ||
The soul can neither be cut nor burnt. It can not be drenched in water nor blown away by wind. The soul is omni-present, conscious and unperturbed. It is ancient and eternal.
C 3 chEri kAnarAni vADu chintincharAni vADu
bhArapu vikArAla pAsinavADee Atma
araya Sri vEnkaTESunAdheena meetaDani
sAramu teliyuTE satyam jNAnam ||
The soul is invisible and can not be comprehended easily. The soul is devoid of passion. If you observe deeply the soul is in Sri Venkatesa's control. Realisation of this essence is indeed truth and wisdom.
