P hATakESvara samraksha mAm tapta
hATakamaya linga moortE trayAtmaka ||
Oh Lord Hatakesvara, you are in the form of Linga with the sheen of molten gold. Please protect me.

He shines under "Patali" tree. Hari,Indra and other Gods adore him. He dwells at holy Hataka. He sports as pure conciousness in the form of divine swan. He shines in the minds of millions of devotees. Guha is delighted to see him.

He descended there due to severe penances performed by great sages. He, along with his consort Parasakti shine gloriously on beautiful peaks situated on Meru mountain. Eminent Gurus like Maruti, Nandi, Arjuna, Bharata and others are amazed to witness Lord Siva's Cosmic dance. His smile is charming. His face is beautiful like lotus. He adorns crescent moon . His lotus eyes dispel worst miseries of devotees.
