kAruNya sindhu ||
Oh Lord Purandara Vitthala, you are protector of desolate. Your compassion is ocean-like.
C 1 madagajavellA kooDuda rEnu
adara vELege odagalilla
madananayya madhusudana ennalu
mudadindali bandodagide krishA ||
Might of all the elephants could not rescue their king Gajendra. Only Madhusudana the father of Manmadha rescued Gajendra with compassion.
C 2 patigaLaiva riddarEnu
satiya bhanga biDisalilla
gatineene mukunda ennalu
ativEgadi akshaya vitte krishNA ||
Though Draupadi had five great husbands they remained helpless. Only Sri Krishna rescued her with unimaginable speed.
C 3 Siliye rakshisi kulake tande
balige olidu padaviya nitte
sulabhadi bhaktara salahuva namma
cheluva purandara viTThalarAya ||
Sri Rama touched a stone with his sacred foot and redeemed pious Ahalya of her curse. Lord Hari put his foot on King Bali's head and granted him salvation. Beautiful lord Purandara Vitthala never fails to protect his devotees.
