In this kruti Tyagaraja implores us to chant the name of Siva repeatedly in order to get rid off worldly fears and afflictions.

C 1	sajjana gaNamula gAnchi Oree mujjagadeeswarulani mati nenchi lajjAdula tolaginchi tana hrujjalajamunanu poojinchi ||	Respect the virtuous.Know that Siva is the lord of the three worlds. Get rid off all inhibitions and worship Siva in your lotus like heart.
C 2	Agamamula nutiyinchi bahu bAgu lEni bhAshalu chAlinchi bhAgavatulatO pOshinchi Oree tyAgarAja sannutuDani yenchi ||	Recite the Vedas,avoid useless talk, join other devotees and worship Siva the lord of Tyagaraja.

P	Sri gaNanAdham bhajAmyaham Sreekaram chintidArdha phaladam ||	I pray to Sri Gananadha the bestower of prosperity and the benefactor of those who think of him.
AP	Sri guruguhAgrajam agra poojyam SrikanThAtmajam Srita sAmrAjyam ||	He is elder brother of Guruguha and is worshipped as elder one. He is the son of Siva and is equal to a kingdom to the devoted.
C 1	ranjita nATaka ranga tOshaNam sinjita vara maNimaya bhooshaNam AnjanEyAvatAram subhAshaNam kunjara mukham tyAgarAja pOshaNam ||	He bestows happiness to performers of dramas. He is embellished with tinkling gem studded ornaments. He is the incarnation of Anjaneya. He speaks well. He is elephant faced and is the protector of Tyagaraja.

This kruti has special significance. It is believed that Tyagaraja sang this song when he received the sacred magnum opus 'swararnavam' (ocean of music) from the great sage Narada. Tyagaraja extoles the supreme qualities of Narada in this kriti.

P	Sri nArada nAda saraseeruha bhrunga SubhAnga ||	Pious Narada derives divine music in 'Nadam' like a bee draws honey from a lotus flower.
AP	deena mAna samrakshaka jagadeeSa bhEsa sankASA ||	He protects the dignity of the helpless. His moon like radiance is attractive.
C 1	vEda janita vara veeNA vAdana tatvajNa khEdakara tritApa rahita khEchara vinuta yAdava kulajApta sadA mOda hrudaya munivarya Sreeda tyAgarAja vinuta Sreekara mAm pAlaya ||	He is adept in knowing the intricate philosophy behind playing the Vedic Veena. He is devoid of three types of sorrow. He is adored by celestials. He is intimate to Sri Krishna. He is ever cheerful sage that bestows prosperity. Oh bestower of prosperity, protect me. You are worshipped by Tyagaraja.

In this kruti Tyagaraja expresses that contemplating on the feet of Rama is the sole purpose of his life. He requests Rama not to treat him as a stranger.

P	Sree patE nee pada chintane jeevanamu ||	Oh consort of Sri Lakshmi, contemplating on your feet is itself my life.
AP	nE para dESinA gAsi bApavE chanuvuna daya chEsi ||	Am I a stranger? Please be dear to me and dispel my difficulties.
C 1	rAjAdhirAja ravikOTi tEja poojinchi ninnindrAdulu di grAjulai velaya lEdA rAjillu Sri tyAgarAjuniki ||	You are the king of the kings with the effulgence of million suns. Did not Indra and other Gods worship you and become the rulers of all eight directions? Thinking of your feet is life to Tyagaraja.

In this kruti Tyagaraja extoles Rama as the greatest Kshatriya emperor. He requests Rama to treat him as an intimate one.

P	sanAtana parama pAvana ghanAghana varNa kAmalAnana ||	Rama is eternal and most pious. He is blue like a dark cloud. His face is beautiful like a lotus.
AP	tana vADanE yabhimAnamu daivamaina neekEla kalugadu ||	You, being the supreme God, Why don't you consider me as your intimate one.
C 1	rAjAdhipAnvaya sAgara rAju nee pai vilasillitE tejarillagA krupa jootuvE ee jagAna tyAgarAja sannuta. ||	You are glorious. You are the great emperor belonging to the ocean like kshatriya dynasty. You shine well in this world compassionately . You are worshipped by Tyagaraja.

P	sarasee ruha nayanE Saradindu nibha vadanE amba ||	Oh Mother Amba, Your eyes are beautiful like lotus. You are seated on lotus. Your face shines like autumn moon.
AP	parama krupAnidhi neevEyani niratamu nammiti brOvavE talli ||	I strongly believe that you are the supreme ocean of compassion. Oh Mother, please protect me.
C 1	swara rAga laya Sruti marmambulu nAradAdi munulaku upadESinchE vara dAyaki amruta varshiNee maravaku lalitE tyAgarAjanute. ||	You preached Narada and other sages the secrets of music,knowledge of swaras, tuning and proper beat. You are the bestower of boons. You shower the nectar of music. You are the most beautiful Lalitha Worshipped by Tyagaraja. Please don't forget me.

In this kruti Tyagaraja praises Sri Janaki for the excellent support and comfort she gave to Rama during their exile in the forest. He says that none is equal to Sita.

Your gentle gait belittles the walk of a swan. You immerse in divine sport of the universe for which you are the cause. You are adorned with the mark of Tilakam on your forehead. Devotion to you is superior. Why don't you shower mercy?

C 3	vAreeSa stuta gambheerE Adipura vihAree deenajanA dharee nagarAjaku mari dushkarma vidAree tyagaraju kOriyunna tripura ||	Oh Tripura Sundari, Varuna the rain God worships you. you reside majestically at Adipuram. You are the prop of the distressed. You are the daughter of the king of mountains, Himavanta. You dispel all evil. Tyagaraja prays for your grace.

P	SivE pAhimAmbikE Srita phala dAyaki||	Oh supreme Goddess Amba the consort of Siva, You are the bestower of rewards to devotees. Please protect me.
AP	kAvErijOttara vAsini kAtyAyini dharma samvardhini ||	You are Katyayini, known as Dharma Samvardhani residing on the north side of Kaveri river.
C 1	swabhAvamau nee prabhAvamu mahA nubhAvurAlaina bhAratiki poga Da bhAramai yunDa bhAva jArA ti bhAma nEnenta bhAgya dAyaki ||	Even the goddess of learning Saraswati can not comprehend your nature and prowess. You are the consort of Siva the enemy of Manmatha. What am I after all to comprehend your nature.
C 2	kalArdhamidi SaSikalAdhari yupa valAri mAyAvilAsini sa kalAgama nutE bhalAri yuva Subha phalAlosagu parama lAlanammuna ||	You are the essence of the sixty four kalas (arts). The crescent moon adorns your head. You are the embodiment of Vishnu Maya. This world of delusion is your wilful sport. All the scriptures worship you. Kindly bless us affectionately and shower boons on us.
C 3	charAchara mayi karAravindamu na rAmachilukanu birAna booni parAkugA jooDa rAdu Sri raghu varAptuDagu tyAgarAja vinutE ||	You are the embodiment of this movable and immovable creations. You hold a parrot in your lotus like hand. Please don't be indifferent. Tyagaraja, the intimate devotee of Rama worships you.

In this kruti Tyagaraja describes the beauty and noble qualities of Rama. He says that Rama is omnipotent and terror to the sinners.

You are the destroyer of Parasurama's (Jamadagni's son) pride. You are like Varuna the rain god to put off fire likened to sins. The sages seek for protection.
C 3	vigaLita mOha pASa vidhu kOTi sankASa bhagawan sakalAdheeSa pAhi pApa vinASa ||	You snap the cords of delusion. You shine like million moons. Oh Lord, You are omnipotent. You annihilate sins. Please protect me.
C 4	vara tyAgarAjanuta vArija sambhava tAta parama kaLyANa yuta pAhi mAm Subha charita ||	You are worshipped by Tyagaraja. You are the father of the lotus borne Brahma. You are the most auspicious one with excellent character. Please protect me.

This is a keertana from 'Nauka charitam'. Beautiful Gopikas set out with their beloved Krishna for a pleasant boat ride on the river Yamuna. Tyagaraja describes various acts done by them in their love for Krishna. The Gopikas are infatuated in divine love for Krishna known as 'Madhura Bhakti'

C 2	magaDu veeDanuchu nokate ravike bigavunu jErchuchu nokate tagunu tana kanuchu nokate pAda yugamula nottuchu yokate vEDkaga ||	One gopika said that Krishna was her lord. Another one was tightening her blouse. One was claiming that she only deserves Krishna. One was comforting his feet. ||
C 3	sokkuchu sOluchu nokate krishNuni grakkuna muddiDu nokate prakkana rammanu nokate maDupula nakkara nosaguchu nokate vEDkaga ||	One gopika was sighing and was kissing Krishna. One was calling krishna aside. A gopika was offering clothes in all pleasure.
C 4	parimaLamulanduchu nokate Sri hari hari yanchunu yokate uramuna jErchuchu nokate payyeda jaripi vEDukonu nokate vEDkaga ||	A gopika was offering perfume. One was chanting the name of Hari. When one gopika was embracing, another was removing her upper garment.
C 5	sArasAksha yanuchu nokate kanu saiganu biluchuchu nokate rArA yanuchu nokate tyAga rAja sakhuDanuchu nokate vEDkaga ||	One gopika was saying that Krishna was lotus eyed. One gopika was beaconing Krishna with her eyes. One was calling him to come to her. One gopika was pleasantly saying that Krishna makes Tyagaraja happy.

In this kruti Tyagaraja praises Rama as the unparalleled hero of Soorya dynasty and adds that Rama is engrossed in the nicities of music.

P	Sree raghu vara prameya mAmava||	Oh Rama, the noblest of Raghu dynasty, you are beyond comparision.Please protect me.
AP	Sree raghu kulajalAnidhi sOma Sree rAma pAlaya ||	You are like the moon to the ocean like Raghu dynasty.please protect me.
C 1	sAra sahita kulAbja bhrunga sangeeta lOla ||	You are like a bee humming around a lotus which blooms in the presence of the Sun.You immerse in music.
C 2	virOchana kulEswara swara layAdi moorchanOllAsita nArada vinuta ||	You are the most exalted one of the Sun dynasty. You engross in the delineation of swaras and rhythm.Narada adores you.
C 3	Sree bhAskara kulAdri deepa Sree bhAgawatha nata charaNa see tA bhAgadEya tyAgarAjanuta ||	You are the beacon light of the Surya dynasty.The ardent devotees bow to your feet.Sita is your life partner.You are dear to Anjaneya the son of the wind God. Virtues are your ornaments. Tyagaraja worships you.

In this kruti Tyagaraja expounds Rama's political wisdom and sagacity.He says that the four fundamental methods of dealing with an enemy are very well known to Rama.

P	sarasa sAma dAna bhEda danDa chatura sATi daiva mevarE brOvavE||	Who is the other God comparable to Rama? He was proficient in negotiating for conciliation. He was crafty in dividing the enemies. He severely punished the enemy. Oh Rama,please save me.
AP	parama SAmbhavAgrESarunDaguchu palku rAvaNunDu teliya lEka pOye ||	Ravana boasted that he was the supreme among all the Siva's devotees. He never realised the greatness of Rama.
C 1	hitavu mATa lentO bAga palkitivi satamuga nayOdhya nittu nanTivi nata sahOdaruni rAju chEsi rAka hatamu chEsitivi tyagarAjanuta. ||	Oh Rama,you gave friendly advice to Ravana. You even offered to gift away Ayodhya to him. You crowned Vibheeshana as the king of Lanka. You annihilated Ravana. Tyagaraja worships you.

P	swara rAga sudhArasa yuta bhakti swargApavargamu rA Oh manasA||	Oh my heart,devotion blended with the nectarine essence of swaras and ragas is essential to reach the heaven and beyond it the Kaivalyam.
AP	paramAnandamanE kamalamu pai baka bhEkamulu chelagEmi manasA ||	Oh my heart,what a futile exercise it is for a crane and frog to revel on the lotus of supreme bliss.
C 1	moolAdhAra ja nAda meruguTE mudamagu mOkshmu rA kOlAhala sapta swara gruhamula gurutE mOkshamu rA oh manasA ||	Oh my heart,it is only the awareness of'nada' born at the foremost center of conciousness is emancipation.(Yoga says that mooladhara chakram is the source of nadam). The recognition of the blossoming of seven swaras is emancipation.
C 2	maddela tALa gatulu teliyakane mardinchuTa sukhamA Suddha manasu lEka bhajana chEyuTa sookara vrutti rA oh manasA ||	What pleasure do you get in beating a drum without the basic knowledge of laya(rhythm) Oh my heart,singing the praise of the lord without pure thoughts is only a swine's job.
C 3	bahu janmamulaku paini jNAniyai baraguTa mOkshamu rA sahaja bhaktitO rAga jnAna sahituDu muktuDu rA oh manasA rajata gireeSuDu nagajaku delpu swa rArNava marmamulu vijayamu gala tyAgarAjuDerugE viSwasinchi telusukO manasA ||	It is only after several births wisdom dawns on a human being which will pave the way for salvation.Oh my heart, only those with true devotion, singing mellifluously with the knowledge of ragam attain salvation. Siva the Lord of Himalayas revealed 'swararnavam' (a treatise on the mysteries of music) to his consort Parvati.The jubiliant Tyagaraja posseses the knowledge of Swararnavam. Oh my heart, have faith in it and know.

In this kruti Tyagaraja glorified the unique valor of Sri Raghu veera and also his benevolent nature in destroying our accumulated sins.

AP	sura ripu balamanu toola girula kanala samamou SrirAma ||	Oh Rama, you annhilated the root strength of the enemies of devatas like the fire that destroys easily the mountains of cotton.
C 1	toli nE jEsina pApa vana kuThAramA kala naina sEyaga lEni balu vilunu virachi velasina Sriraghu kula vara brOvumu tyAgarAjanuta ||	Oh Rama the noblest of the Raghu dynasty, you are like an axe to destroy the forest like sins .You broke the the most invincible Siva"s bow.This can not be done by anyone even in his dream.You are the noblest of Raghu dynasty.Protect Tyagaraja that worships you

In this kruti Tyagaraja emphasises that Rama's name itself is the nectarine essence of all spirituality.He exemplifies this with the divine characters like sage Narada,Sage Suka and Lord Siva.

C 1	mAra kOTi lAvaNyuDaina raghu veeruni nAma sudhA rasamunu sAreku pAnamu jEsi jagadvi hAruDai velayu nArAyaNa nArAyaNa yanuchunu varamu Saradambuda nibhuDau Sree nAradamuni valmeeka jAtuniki goorimi nupadESincha lEdA ||	Sage Narada traverses all over the universe chanting the nectar like Rama"s name whose beauty excells that of a million Manmathas.Narada shines with the brilliance of autumn clouds and perpetually chants"Narayana,Narayana". Did he not preach the poet Valmiki the great Rama Taraka Mantram that emancipates.

The great sage Suka immersed himself in the ambrosial sweetness of Rama namam and earned unparalleled fame.Did not supreme Suka preach the king Pareekshit the divine Rama Mantram.
C 3	sAmagAna lOludau rajatagiri dhAmudaina tyAgarAja SivuDati nEmamutO nAmAmruta pAnamu Emarakanu jEsi rAma rAma rAma yanuchu satatamu SreemadAdi gauriki SrungAriki yA mahimala nA rahasyamula nati prEmanu nupadEsincha lEdA ||	Siva who dwells on the Himalayas engrosses himself in the divine music of Sama Ganam.He also immerses in the nectar of Ramanamam. Did not siva preach his beloved and the primordial Parvati the merits and secrets of Rama namam?
