AP sarilEni sitatO sarayoo madhyambuna nA || You were delightfully seated along with your unparalleled consort Sita in boat on Sarayu river.
C varamagu bangAru vADanu merayuchu padi pooTalapai
karuNincheda nanuchu kreeganula tyAga rAjuni ||
You both were beautifully shining on the golden boat. You assured me with compassionate looks to assuage my sufferings in ten days.

paluku kanDa - navarasa kannaDa - dESAdi

P paluku kanDa chakkeranu gEru nE paNatulAra chooDarE || Oh beautiful maids, see and listen to the words of Rama which are sweet like sugar candy.
AP koluvu kooTamunu koluchu vArini
pilichi dASaradhi prEmameera balikE ||
Rama beacons affectionately some serving devotees in his court and talks to them.
C surala kAminee maNula gana mA
daraNa nAlakinchuchunu SrungA
ra rasayukta vAra ramaNulADa joochi
sarasa tyAgarAja varunitO bogaDE ||
He enjoys the melodious music by celestial singers with great interest. He watches the graceful dance of beautiful celestial dancers and extols them. Sri Rama is Tyagaraja's favorite deity.

paralOka bhayamu - mandAri - dESAdi

P paralOka bhayamu lEka bhavapASa baddhulayyEru || People are getting entrenched in the net of worldliness without any fear of the other 'lokas' after this life.
AP kari vAji SrungArArAma Sibi
kAdulella manakE kalgenani ||
They are proud of acquiring elephants, horses, beautiful gardens, palanquins and all possible luxuries.
C konnakAntalu kOnabiDDalanu
vanne cheeralanu vAna guDiselanu
tinnagA ganE dEvalOkamani
tannukOLLalO tyAgarAjanuta ||
They imagine that money-minded women, indiscipilined children, colorful costly sarees and houses are their paradise.
Oh Rama worshipped by Tyagaraja, they don't realise that all those possessions are only temporary props.

Oh Krishna, you entyced and entangled sixteen thousand Gopikas by your mesmarising and irresistible music on flute.
C venna meegaDala vEDka meeraganu
kannapinna vAnDla kaDupu ninchi
tinnagA velayu divya roopamA
chinni krishNa dayachEsi tyAgarAja ||
Oh little Krishna, you delightfully filled the stomachs of children with butter and cheese but you mischivously pretended innocense. Your appearence is divine. Please protect Tyagaraja.
