G N Bala Subramanyam (1910-1965) G.N. Bala Subrahmanyam familiarly known as GNB was born in Tamilnadu. He was known for his melodious voice, unique way of rendering Alapana and his verstality in exhibiting Swara Kalpana. He composed about 100 Krutis in Sanskrit, Telugu and Tamil.He was known for his humility inspite of his talents in composing, singing and even acting in some films like Sakuntala , Sati Anasuya and Bhamavijayam. He was a great admirer of Ariyakudi Ramanuja Ayyangar and Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan. His Krutis 'Vara vallabha nayaka' and 'Ranjani niranjani are very popular. He also worked as the Principal of Maharaja Swati Tirunal College of Music, Tiruvananthapuram.
